Tablecloth Warning
  • It's not a good idea to lay a plain-plastic, foam or felt-backed plastic tablecloth right on top of a wooden table. The foam or plastic could stick to the wood, causing damage. The table might have to be refinished. When you pull up plastic sheeting that's been on a table, sections of varnish could come off, so be careful. Put down table pads first, then the tablecloth

Dusting Your Computer Screen
  • Unplug the equipment first. Wipe screen with a lint-free cloth or commercial cleaning pads. Do NOT use window cleaners, sprays or liquid cleaners on the screen; they could cause damage to it. Vacuum around the computer often to remove dust.

How to Peel a Hard-Boiled Egg
  • First, gently tap the egg--on all sides--on the counter. Then roll the egg between your hands to crack the shell a bit more. Start to peel from the large end. Hold the egg under cool water to assist further in removing the shell.

Storing Table Leaves and Chairs
  • When you store extra table leaves and folding chairs, put old pillowcases over each to help keep them dust free and so they don't mar the walls where they are placed.

Cleaning Fingerprints from Refrigerators.
  • To eliminate smears and fingerprints, clean with a mixture of half vinegar and half water. Use an old terry towel to do the job. To shine the refrigerator, polish with car or floor wax that dries clear.
